Our Story
Footprints Early Childhood Intervention was created in 2023 to support families with children facing developmental delays or disabilities, recognising the significant responsibilities these families carry. Drawing inspiration from the poem “Footprints in the Sand,” Footprints symbolises the concept of standing beside you, providing unwavering support during difficult times, enabling your child to reach their full potential.
Driven by Values
The values of Footprints, encapsulated in the mantra “where different makes a difference,” is not merely a catchphrase but a profound reflection of our director’s personal experiences. Having perceived the world through a lens of uniqueness and diversity, she harnessed these insights to forge a path that transcends conventional norms. Her innovative ideas have consistently translated into positive transformations in the lives of those touched by Footprints.

Does my child need a formal diagnosis to access support?
Under the NDIS early childhood approach, children under the age of 6 do not need a diagnosis to access services if there are concerns about their development. If your child is younger than 6, it’s a good idea to raise any concerns with a professional who knows them, such as their GP, child health nurse, or an early childhood educator.
Where can services be conducted?
Footprints provide services in various settings, including the child’s home, community centers, childcare, and preschools. The goal is to integrate support into the child’s everyday environment to make it more effective and accessible
How much does each session cost?
Footprints follow the prices underlined in the NDIS price guide which states that therapy services start at $193.99 per hour. Additionally, our mobile services also incur a travel fee of $0.99 per kilometer and $3.24 per minute (a maximum of 30 minutes and 30 kilometers charged per session). For shifts with a support worker, hourly rates can range from $67.56-$150.10 depending on the day and time of the shift.
How do I apply for the NDIS?
To apply for NDIS Early Childhood Intervention, you need to contact the NDIS to discuss your child’s needs and circumstances. If your child is eligible, you will be guided through the application process, which may involve providing medical and developmental reports.
What happens when my child turns 7?
When a child turns 7, their eligibility for supports through the Early Childhood approach ends. However, if the child has a permanent disability, they may transition to the general NDIS supports, which are available for individuals aged 7 to 65.
